A Family Business

Having worked in both the multiple and independent sectors of the market, the team at Seddons, led by Musab & Naeemunisha Patel, have curated ideas from both sides of the optical world and integrated the best of both into their own practice. The attention to detail and personal service of an independent practice along with the efficiency and stream lined approach of a multiple.

With 2 young children at home, the Patels balance work and family life, serving the Atherton community with the same values used to build the Seddons Opticians brand for over 100 years.

We also manage another Opticians Practice in Bolton – Harwood Eyecare

Musab

Musab graduated from University of Bradford in 2007 and carried out his pre-registration training in Bolton, becoming a fully qualified optometrist in the Autumn of 2008. Since 2008, Musab has practiced as an optometrist in a Hospital and also in high street multiples but over the past few years he has practiced in many Independent practices.

The love and passion for practicing in the independent sector has since been cemented when he was given the opportunity to be chosen along with his wife to carry on providing quality eyecare to the communities of Atherton and its surrounding towns by Mrs Elaine Seddon.

When not kept busy by his two little daughters, Musab likes to go to the gym and long walks with the family. He is also a rare breed of fans who support his team Bolton Wanderers.

Naeemunisha

Naeemunisha also graduated from University of Bradford in 2007 and carried out her pre-registration training in Rochdale, becoming a fully qualified optometrist in the Summer of 2008. Since 2008, Naeemunisha has mainly practiced as an optometrist in the Independent Practice sector and has worked in towns such as Clitheroe and Bolton.

In her spare time (which she does not have much) Naeemunisha loves to bake and likes to catch up on Eastenders, but her guilty pleasure are Bollywood movies.

About Seddons

Our History

Dating back to 1905 the history of Seddons Opticians is a long one.  The first Mr Seddon co-ran Skirrow Opticians, in Westhoughton, before passing the practice on to his son, John Seddon.  John and his wife Elaine ran 3 practices in the area throughout their long career.

In 2019, Elaine retired from Optics, following the death of John 2 years earlier.  The reigns of Seddons Opticians, Atherton were then passed on to Musab and Naeemunisha.
